Perfectly Pear-ed
Although we are generally wine (me) and beer (Jim) drinkers, we do try to kick up our cocktail game a bit on the weekends and have fun with some seasonal flavors. Nothing elevates an evening like a specialty cocktail, especially to kick off the holiday season. With the Vanilla Bean salted rim, this one has Thanksgiving all over it! Don’t miss all of our favorite Thanksgiving Salts - read the details HERE.

*You will need a cocktail shaker
This makes just 2 cocktails, so feel free to double, triple or even quadruple for a full batch! You won’t be sorry. Simple syrup will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
2 oz Bourbon
2 oz Pear Nectar or Juice
Juice of 1 Lemon
Sparkling Wine to taste for the finish. Ginger Beer works as well.
1 oz Ginger Honey simple syrup:
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 1/2 Tsp chopped Ginger
Alaska Pure Vanilla Bean Sea Salt for rimming
Garnish of choice : we use a Lemon twist, but Crystalized Ginger with a slice of Pear or Lemon wedges all work beautifully.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Make the Simple Syrup: Combine honey, water and ginger in a small sauce pan, bring to a simmer until honey dissolves. Let cool. Strain out solids. Feel free to double or triple this and refrigerate for your future cocktails!
Make the Cocktail: Combine bourbon, pear juice, lemon juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously until chilled.
Use lemon wedge to prep the rim for salt. Put AK Pure sea salt in a saucer or small plate and rim glass with salt.
Pour into glass and top with sparkling wine or ginger beer. Or if you prefer, pour over ice. Garnish and ENJOY!
